Originally from Leaside, a neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Evan McMurtry now calls Brockville home and finds much inspiration in the natural scenery around him.

He has been passionate about art from an early age. He believes the best photographs come from the study of light, colour, and contrasts. There is a moment of inspiration, then capturing it with his camera.

His background in art history. Studying the work of Tom Thomson and the Old Masters informs his artistic practice.
